When your parents go on-line to register their instruments, they will be directed to a new music parent website: www.firstinstrument.com. Besides registering their instrument for the SMART Parent Program, parents will be able to learn how they can support your schools music program and you! Topics include Knowing and Working with Your Director, Buying or Renting an Instrument, Giving Your Child the Best Chance For Success, as well as other information to make them a more informed partner with your instrumental music program.
So get your parents excited! A motivated parent group can support you and your program, simply by making them feel included. Your “booster” program can promote the SMART Parent benefit year after year, simply by communicating to new parents. Create a sense of community by parents encouraging one another to register and to avoid purchasing other instruments that don’t reward the music program.
